25 Days of Advent - REVEAL

REVEAL by Bob and Nora Pitrolo

During our day to day lives we try to understand and deal with our current situation. We are good for taking personal credit when things go our way, and have a difficult time understanding when events just don’t make sense to us.

We question God during those difficult times. We question why God is taking so long, or why He is allowing bad things to happen. We just want Him to fix things as we perceive they should be fixed.

But as time goes by God’s plan is revealed to us. Many times, we recognize that there were many things that we had not even considered in our own plan, and clearly God’s plan was better.

God looks out for us that way. He always has our best interest at heart.

As you see in the picture there is always more behind the mirror that we don’t always see until it is revealed to us. Things are a little different when we have the whole picture.

I think of the following verse when I question God due to my lack of understanding

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8 (NLT)

Father, we have great comfort knowing that You are always there for us. Even at times when we doubt, we don’t understand, or think we have the best solution, You continue to Love us and work in our best interest. When we look back and see the whole picture it becomes apparent that You always have the perfect solution. Help us to have patience during these times. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 98

1 Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. 2 The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. 3 He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; 5 make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, 6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. 8 Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; 9 let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
