REST by Amanda Eagle
Experiencing a long quarantine this year, God has forced me to see the NEED and blessings in REST unlike ever before. I spent many days hiding away from the uncertainties of the world walking in the woods, sitting by the ocean, floating on the lake, and staring into a campfire. I found that these quiet times in nature allowed me to feel God's PRESENCE, POWER, AND LOVE so that my mind could stop racing, planning, and questioning. My heart could stop worrying. This Christmas season may we all seek rest in knowing that God is with us.
Dear Lord, Thank you for calling me to rest in your presence. When I surround myself with your creativity and creation, my distractions disappear. I can feel you and see you. In the quiet of nature, I almost immediately begin to hear your scriptures rolling around in my mind; remembering who YOU are, what YOU have done and I allow myself to believe YOU ARE STILL AT WORK! I can calm down and let go. I can REST. Amen.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
