Merry Christmas Everyone!
On behalf of our entire team of staff and volunteers here at Mt Pleasant I want to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for allowing us to serve with you, pray with you, laugh with you, sing with you and grow with you through what has turned out to be a very strange year. It has been a year with some incredible Highs, and some unexpected Lows. We are not the same people we once were and we are not the same church. We’ve changed, and we are still changing. We have faced far more than anyone expected but I think we learned a lot more about ourselves along the way, about our courage, our commitment and about our faith in God and one another.
In Philippians 4:11 Paul reminds us that ever crisis has hidden potential and ever problem an open door to discovery. There’s an old proverb I like that highlights how God shapes us thru adversity.
I am stronger today because I had to be.
I am wiser because of my mistakes
I am happier because of the sadness I have known
I am more loving because I have known loneliness
I am more hopeful because I see God.
As we celebrate Christmas and then prepare to take the next bold step into a New Year, we sincerely hope you are able to find more of the good than the bad, see more light than dark and find more joy even on the cloudy days. Above all, we pray that you’re walk with Jesus this year is deeper, more intimate and more confident no matter the path you are called to travel. As we look to 2021, we will do so together. So from all of us to all of you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
