In the midst of a highly polarized society, Paul encouraged new believers to create a better, radical community without social hierarchy, nationality or politics. Is that even possible? Paul thought so and reminded his readers that in the eyes of Jesus there is no Jew or Gentile, male or female, slave or free! All are in desperate need of help! How can we still cling to own tribe and demonize the rest of the world? Who are we to look down our noses at people who think and feel differently? Do we have a lock on perfection?
Paul also warned this readers that those who do not learn to get along will in the end devour one another
"if you keep attacking each other like wild animals, you had better watch out or you will destroy yourselves." (Galatians 5:15)
We will take a closer look at what it means to be truly united in Christ.
Is Christ greater than your politics?
Is Christ greater than your national identity?
Is Christ greater than your faith denomination?
