We saw kids who didn’t have enough food on weekends, they were hungry, and not able to concentrate and perform at school, and we had to find a way to fix it.
These children live in families that are struggling financially and do not always have the food resources to provide adequate food to replace the meals the children miss when public school is not in session. Hunger is a problem that threatens our children and our future. We’re in danger of losing an entire generation of leaders, innovators and dreamers. Mt. Pleasant UMC is a leading advocate for children affected by poverty, neglect or violence.
